Daily Market Brief

Equity prices rose by 1.1% as measured by the Nairobi All-share index on the 15th of October 2025. NSE 25 gained the most at 0.9% followed by NSE 10 and NSE 20 with 0.2 and 0.4 % respectively.

The shares traded dropped by 10.8% from 20.15Mn yesterday to 17.98Mn shares whereas the market turnover improved significantly from KES 308.54Mn to KES 372.77Mn.

Safaricom emerged as the top mover for the 3rd consecutive day with a turnover of KES 183.35Mn. The second and third top movers of the day were NCBA Group and Absa New Gold with KES 48.21Mn and KES 33.25Mn turnovers, respectively.

Foreign activities improved with a surge in net foreign inflow from KES 8.22Mn yesterday to KES 20.97Mn. Safaricom, Kenya Power and I&M Group recorded the highest net foreign activity.

Secondary bonds value traded dropped from KES 10.945Bn yesterday to KES 7.45Bn as focus shifted to the auction of the reopened FXD1/2018/015 (7.7 years) of 12.65% coupon and FXD1/2021/020 (15.9- years) of 13.444% coupon .
