Stock prices were up by 0.2% on 23 counters. NSE 25, NSE 10 and NSE 20 gained 0.1%, 0.6% and 0.7%, respectively. Banking stocks were up 0.3%.
Shares traded further declined 33.0% from 23.98Mn to 16.05Mn shares resulting in a 49.0% drop in turnover from KES 865.23Mn to KES 441.55Mn.
Safaricom emerged top mover with KES 236.58Mn attributed to a rise in volumes traded and price from KES 27.95 to KES 28.10.The second and third top movers were EABL and NCBA Group with KES 37.74Mn and KES 34.43Mn turnovers, respectively.
Foreign activities dropped to 49.4% with an increase in net foreign outflows to KES 74.90Mn. Heavy foreign entries happened on KCB, Stan-Chart and I&M with high exits spotted majorly on Safaricom.
Secondary bonds recorded a drop of 28.5% in the value traded from KES 20.83Bn to KES 14.88Bn despite a rise in the number of deals from 194 to 240. The FXD/2021/20Yr had the highest value traded from 6.82Bn to 8.658Bn.
